UG2K5 Batch Trip....

Preamble

Since the beginning of the third sem, we had discussions over Batch Trip. All of us wanted it to be something unique and fun-loaded. As the time passed we became more and more serious about when and where to have batch trip. Finally it was all decided to have it in second year, second sem, second week to Vizag, Arku valley and borra caves. The idea was supported by all. We had started preperations two weeks in advance. Got buses booked and hunted for accommodations in Vizag. Also consulted Mitra sir and Dipti mam for the same. As per IIIT tradition mails were sent to batch regarding this trip and all were excited. In no time I had received 90 names and registration had to close, since only two buses(45 seat-er) were booked. Finally all of us took off for Vizag. We sang songs all the way and enjoyed a lot. Next morning we reached Vizag. The dormitories which were booked on phone were found unhygenic. Immediately all the organisers were set to hunt for hotel rooms in the vicinity. Karan found one after his long run for hotels. All were departed to hotels and get fresh. Whole day we enjoyed over beach, kaali temple and kailash giri. For lunch and dinner we took our buses to city centers and had delightful meals. Next day we had a train journey to Araku valley, which is known for its beautiful sightseeing. Borra Caves was one of the attractions. It is 150 million year old and breath taking beauty of stalactites and stalagmites. From there we had directly drove for Hyderabad in the evening. And reached IIIT in the afternoon. Since we knew about reaching late to IIIT, we had informed Prof Sangal and other professors the previous night. Therefore some classes were cancelled or attendance was not taken.

Spl thanks to Prof Sangal, Prof Mitra and Prof Dipti for supporting us with half the budget and guidance at every step. Also I would mention special thanks to all the other organisers and batch-mates in making it a memorable event. Also IIIT policy of 1+2+3+4.

PS: Two Bus hired for 90 thousand + 15000 for accommodation + 10000 for tickets (borra caves and train to Araku valley) and bus drivers.

PS: The leftover money was distributed among the batchmates.

The trip was awesome. We visited a lot of places and learned some important things. I came to know that the Borra Caves are natural caves and are more than 150 million years old. They had stalactites and stalagmites. They had wonderful natural structure made in course of time resembling human brain and face and even tiger~Rs face. There was a Shiva temple there in the
caves and it is said that on Maha Shiv Ratri lots of tribal people come there to pay their tribute to lord Shiva. Other than this I also enjoyed the Beach a lot and we played lots of games there.
I also learnt how to enjoy with so many people around, how to mingle with strangers. We sang songs all the way and enjoyed a lot. I hope we get to have these kinds of trips in future where other than learning about new places we also learn to live and enjoy together.

The Batch Trip was a great experience.I strongly feel it helped a lot in strengthening the relationships and it also greatly helped us in developing self confidence. As far as i know, its a different environment when we move out with our family and with our friends. The latter is definetly more fun and enjoyment than the former. After a long journey of 8 – 9 hrs having a lot of fun n njoyment in bus which we reached vizag. Vizag is a very beautiful place.We ppl stayed thr for 2 days. On the first day in the morning we went to kaali temple which is located opposite to ramakrishna beach and aftr that to ramakrishan beach aftr lunch we reached to rishikonda beach it is the one which is located at high altitude.We had a great time over thr.Aftr that we reached to kailash giri it was one of the wonderful places to have a very gud view of vizag .Its nearly 7.30pm i guess we reaced over thr it was a great view of vizag having plain and calm sea on its one side and the city having all its lights glowing like stars on the other side. On the second day of the trip we went to Aaraku and Borra caves.Both are awesome places. we went to araku in train that was a great view of water falls and valleys of Aaraku and frm thr to borra caves . we were in Araku till aftrnoon and after that we went to borra caves.Borra caves are one of the beautiful creation of nature. So its been really great and had a great time over there will all my frens for 2 days. I think i was able to convey what i actually meant to.So, I would definetly encourage such trips in later periods of time.

The news of the batch trip came as a sweet surprise and we were all overjoyed with the fact that we had an opportunity to spend the weekend away from the tension of academics with friends.The bus journey was rather comfortable thanks to the organisers.We reached Vizag in the early hours of the morning and soon got settled with our rooms.The first stop was at the Kali temple facing the beautiful sea.After a wholesome lunch we headed towards the Rishikonda beach and had a memorable time.We spent nearly 4 hours in the water and that too seemed less by all standards to us.Kailashagiri was a great place too and one can have a beautiful view of the whole city from here. The next morning we boarded a train to Araku and it was a nice journey.We sang along and had loads of masti.Borra caves was fascinating and I enjoyed it the most.All in all it was a trip worth the memories and tiresome journey.Looking forward to more of these.I learnt that friends are more or less like family coz this is the first time I have been out
with pals.We gelled well and I am glad the trip happened.
